Personal injury claims briefing

The briefing will provide guidance and assistance for schools when dealing with personal injury by pupils, staff or visitors. The briefing will include an overview of the law including what steps can be taken to avoid claims and will also consider what practical steps should be taken when a school is faced with a claim.

Michelle has extensive experience in defending personal injury claims including claims against employers and schools, stress at work claims and historic sexual abuse claims.  Michelle  was the lead Solicitor in the claim of Woodland,  a case in the Supreme Court, considering the non delegable duties of schools when lessons were contracted out to third parties.

Tracy is a qualified solicitor with extensive experience in defending personal injury cases from claims investigation through to trial. Tracy regularly appears in Court and advises insurers on a wide variety of claims. Her case load routinely includes allegations of negligence; statutory breaches of duty; employers and public liability. Tracy has acted for a number of Schools across the country defending claims brought by pupils, staff and visitors.

Simon is a paralegal in the personal injury team and undertakes investigations in respect of school claims including taking witness evidence and advising on claims.  Simon has extensive experience of dealing with claims from initial stages to trial and has over 20 years of dealing with personal injury claims.
